Martley’s darters faced defeat for the first time, going down 4-3 in a tense encounter with the Bedwardine Bullseyes.
Martley made a good start with Pete Gardner and Andy Leschallas winning their singles 2-1.
Will Rushrove battled away at 3 before going down 2-1 before home hopes were raised when Tobey Jones won his game in two straight, Toby Andrews was beaten which meant the Martley men were 3-2 up going into the doubles.
Tobey Jones and Alex Basford then lost a close encounter but Pete Gardener and Sandy Leschalles could not get Martley home and they went down 4-3 in what was a very sporting encounter.
